We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the assessment, design, and execution of a cloud migration initiative for our client in the chemical process simulation industry.
You will be responsible for transforming their on-premises solution into a modern SaaS platform, migrating their chemical process simulation platform to Azure or AWS, and ensuring seamless integration with industry-leading third-party applications from AspenTech, Honeywell KBC, Siemens, ABB, and Yokogawa.
You’ll help us to do:
- Conduct comprehensive assessment of the client’s existing on-premises infrastructure, applications, and dependencies to develop a detailed cloud migration strategy
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on (AWS/Azure) tailored to chemical process simulation workloads
- Lead the end-to-end migration of desktop applications, APIs, and databases to the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to the client’s business operations
- Architect and design a multi-tenant SaaS platform that meets the needs
- Develop integration strategies for real-time data acquisition using OPC protocols (OPC UA, OPC DA) in cloud/hybrid scenarios
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions — Design integration patterns for third-party simulation applications (AspenTech, Honeywell KBC, Siemens, Yokogawa, etc)
- Architect API strategies and microservices to enable seamless communication between cloud platform and external systems
- Writing and maintaine the architecture documentation
Here’s the experience that will help you to do the job:
- 8+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years in architecture roles
- Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET, and Blazor for building modern web applications
- Hands-on experience with desktop application modernization and migration strategies
- Expert knowledge of (AWS preferable or Azure) services including compute, storage, networking, security, and monitoring — Experience with time-series databases, preferably InfluxDB
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and similar.
- Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture and best practices
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
- Strong understanding of integration with Desktop Application and integration with it -
- String understanding of application containerization (Docker, K8S) and virtualization (virtual machines )
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming analytics
- Strong client-facing and communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with process simulation software (AspenTech, Honeywell KBC, Siemens, ABB, Yokogawa)
- Experience with SCADA systems and industrial control systems.
