Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support the financial operations of our organization while providing administrative assistance to senior leadership. This hybrid role is perfect for someone early in their finance and accounting career who is eager to learn, grow, and take on diverse responsibilities. You will assist with key financial tasks including reporting, budgeting, and analysis, while also supporting executive administrative functions that keep our leadership team running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Journal Entries & Month-End Closing: Assist in preparing journal entries and participate in the month-end closing process
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the team in gathering data, analyzing financial performance, and preparing budgets and forecasts
- Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations and work to resolve any discrepancies
- Bookkeeping & Data Management: Support bookkeeping tasks and manage data in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Expense Management: Process and review expense reports for leadership team members
- Calendar & Meeting Management: Assist with managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings for senior leadership
- Meeting Preparation: Compile and prepare materials for financial reviews and leadership meetings
- Document Management: Maintain organized files (electronic and hard copy) while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection legislation
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use formulas and advanced functions
- Language Skills: Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) is required; German at upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher is required
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
- Communication: Effective interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Discretion: Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with professional discretion
Preferred
- Accounting Software: Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Google Workspace: Experience with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
- Administrative Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or support role is a plus
- Time Management: Excellent management and problem-solving skills
