We are looking for an experienced Senior Network & Security Camera Engineer for one of our projects to lead the secure, high-performance video transmission from client locations to centralized processing systems. This is a hands-on role focused on integrating our platform into diverse CCTV infrastructures and ensuring smooth, secure data flow across varied physical and network setups.

About the Project: a fast-growing Swedish AI company redefining how surveillance infrastructure is used in retail. Our platform integrates with existing camera systems and leverages advanced Video Language Models (VLMs) to detect incidents and generate real-time alerts. Trusted by some of Sweden’s largest grocery chains, we are now expanding to support increasingly complex networked environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy secure site-to-site VPNs for transmitting video data to Preventai’s cloud or edge analytics nodes
• Set up and maintain firewalls, routers, and switches with proper routing, traffic prioritization (QoS), and security configurations
• Optimize high-resolution video feed transmission using RTSP, RTMP, SRT, and HLS protocols
• Integrate with existing IP cameras, NVRs, and VMS platforms—including legacy systems
• Configure long-range wireless connections (P2P and P2MP) where cabling isn’t feasible
• Monitor and troubleshoot the full video pipeline from source camera to processing endpoint
• Document configurations and network topologies to ensure repeatability and scalability

Required Skills

• Advanced Networking: Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, and firewall setup (experience with MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Cisco preferred)
• QoS Implementation: Proven experience managing traffic prioritization for real-time video streams
• Streaming Protocols & Codecs: Deep understanding of RTSP, RTMP, SRT, HLS, and H.264/H.265
• VPN & Security: Demonstrated success deploying secure VPN tunnels and encrypted video channels
• Wireless Infrastructure: Experience with P2P/P2MP wireless bridges and outdoor wireless setups
• CCTV Integration: Familiarity with IP camera systems, NVRs, and VMS platforms (e.g., Axis, Milestone, Dahua)
• Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and diagnostic skills across video, networking, and hardware layers

Nice to Have

• Experience working with edge AI devices or local inference hardware
• Knowledge of remote monitoring tools or VPN orchestration platforms
• Awareness of data privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR) in video surveillance

Workload: Full-time (160 hours/month)
Location: Remote (EU residency required)
