Swarmer is a Ukrainian defense technology company building AI-powered coordination software for unmanned systems. We don’t manufacture drones. We build the intelligence layer that enables them to operate together reliably in contested environments. Our software was born from necessity and tested on the battlefield.

Robotics & Autonomy Engineer (вакансія неактивна)

Київ, Варшава (Польща)

Swarmer is a Vendor-Agnostic Autonomy for Coordinated Robots. We develop AI-managed collaborative autonomy to make teams of connected drones and autonomous systems smart, efficient, and self-improving over time.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Robotics & Autonomy Engineer to design, develop, and optimize the core autonomy and perception systems powering our multi-vendor drone platform. You will work at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and embedded systems — ensuring our autonomous drones operate reliably and intelligently in the most demanding environments.

🚀 WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop algorithms for localization, path planning, and motion control of autonomous UAVs.
  • Build and optimize real-time perception pipelines (vision, LiDAR, point clouds) for onboard systems.
  • Integrate machine learning models into robotic platforms (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV).
  • Design and implement middleware and data handling (ROS, ZeroMQ) to support autonomy.
  • Calibrate and test UAV payloads, robotic arms, and embedded controllers (STM32, ESP32, RaspberryPi).
  • Collaborate with hardware and RF teams on advanced sensing technologies.
  • Contribute to simulation and testing environments (Isaac Sim or similar).
  • Mentor junior engineers and help shape autonomy best practices.

📌 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years in robotics or autonomy engineering (UAVs, mobile robots, or robotic arms).
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python on Linux.
  • Solid grounding in linear algebra, control theory, probability, and numerical methods.
  • Hands-on experience with computer vision and ML integration.
  • Familiarity with embedded development and microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of RF/beamforming or interferometry a plus, not mandatory.
  • Fluent Ukrainian and competent English (B2 or higher).

🌱 WE OFFER:

  • A chance to shape the core autonomy and perception systems at the heart of Ukraine’s defense tech ecosystem and its international expansion.
  • Direct impact in a high-stakes industry where your engineering decisions carry real-world consequences.
  • Professional growth through hands-on work with advanced UAV technologies and exposure to international best practices in autonomy, CV, and ML.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package (insurance, paid sick leave, 20 paid days off per year).
  • Benefits of the defense sector (reservation and related benefits).
  • Flexible remote work options (possibility to commute to the office if needed is essential).

🏆 HOW’S THE HIRING PROCESS GOING:

✔️Intro Call with TA Specialist → ✔️Technical Interview → ✔️Management Interview → ✔️Final interview → ✔️Security check → ✔️Offer
