As the VP of Business Development at Sombra, you will be a key leader responsible for devising and implementing strategic initiatives to drive business growth and expand our market presence in our primary markets: the USA, Canada, and the UK. You will lead a Sales, Marketing, and Account Management teams, fostering innovation and building strong relationships to propel the company’s goals.
Our target client is a mid-size company in the US, Canada, and the UK with an annual revenue from $75M to $300M with a strong and long-term need for digitalization.
Responsibilities:
- New Revenue Generation: Drive sales initiatives, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with the Sales and Engagement teams to meet and exceed Revenue targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the business development team (Account Management, Sales, Engagement, Marketing), fostering a culture of result orientation, collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional service delivery to drive client satisfaction and retention.
- Reporting and Analysis: plan and execute budget, provide regular reports, metrics, and analysis on business development activities, assessing performance against goals and recommending strategic adjustments.
Requirements:
- Ability to generate leads, develop opportunities and close new business;
- Result-driven approach, taking ownership, holding accountability and responsibility;
- Understanding of SDLC, tech stacks;
- Proven Experience (5 years) in a senior business development role within the IT industry.
- Proven results in a business development (success cases)
- A Master’s degree/MBA is a plus.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and leading successful teams. Ability to motivate, mentor, and drive a culture of high performance.
- Exceptional business acumen with a deep understanding of the IT industry, market trends, and customer needs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies clearly and effectively.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, execution, and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
