About the Team and Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join Risk Systems — the team that owns Solidgate’s fight against payment risk end-to-end, saving merchants millions of dollars a year.

Our scope spans the full risk lifecycle:

• Antifraud — blocking fraud attacks at authorization. This is our most active build-out: we’re rearchitecting for scale and integrating AI into real-time decisioning.
• Chargeback prevention — direct integrations with Visa, Mastercard, and other schemes to catch friendly-fraud signals before they turn into chargebacks.
• Dispute management — when a chargeback does land, we fight it. We’re investing heavily in win rate, and AI-generated evidence narratives are a live workstream, not a buzzword.

You’ll move along this funnel depending on where the leverage is. Strong on high-load architecture? The antifraud rebuild is a real challenge. Excited about AI in production? Both antifraud automation and dispute win-rate are surfaces where we ship LLM-backed features, not demos.

What You’ll Drive

• Win disputes at scale. Build the systems that turn dispute data into actionable evidence — including AI-generated narratives — and push it directly to the schemes. Every percentage point of win rate is real money back to merchants.
• Own production. Ship Go services that handle high load, with the testing, metrics, and alerting to back it up. You’re on call for what you build.
• Scale antifraud. Rearchitect our antifraud platform for higher throughput and lower latency. Plug in AI/ML signals where rules hit their ceiling, and ship them as production decisioning — not offline experiments.

You’re a great fit if you have

• Experience in building backend systems. We care about depth more than years — but you should have shipped non-trivial production systems end-to-end.
• A real testing discipline. Unit, functional, e2e — and you know which one is the right answer for which problem.
• A point of view on your tech. You push back, propose alternatives, and own the trade-offs of your decisions.

The Points That Make You Stand Out

• Previous exposure to Golang
• Experience with event streaming and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ/SQS)
• Background in Fintech, especially in payments, billing, or financial processing
• Familiarity with AWS and modern CI/CD
