Lead / Senior SRE Azure (freelance)

An ideal candidate for the Lead / Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role with a focus on Azure will bring a combination of advanced technical skills, leadership capabilities, and a deep commitment to delivering reliable, scalable, and customer-centric solutions. This individual will have the ability to drive operational excellence, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage complex cloud environments effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Architecture and Automation: Design and implement As-A-Service solutions using Windows Autopilot, Intune, Azure, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• System Optimization: Develop tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and incident management in large-scale, distributed environments.
• Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with development and operations teams to create solutions that enhance service reliability. Contribute to ongoing DevOps and Agile transformations.
• Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure real-time performance visibility. Participate in on-call rotations to address incidents and minimize downtime.
• CI/CD & Infrastructure Management: Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using modern tools to ensure fast, reliable deployments.
• Cloud and Automation Tools: Use Azure to automate resource provisioning and scaling.

Requirements:

• Windows Autopilot: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring and managing Windows Autopilot.
• Intune: Proficiency in Microsoft Intune for device management and policy enforcement.
• Azure: Experience in working with Microsoft Azure, including configuration and maintenance of cloud resources.
• Azure Virtual Desktop: Practical experience in configuring and managing Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• CI/CD: Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for GitLab.
• Monitoring & Logging: Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
