Our customer is seeking an experienced hands-on DevOps Lead Engineer to oversee and evolve our mission-critical hybrid infrastructure supporting the European Consolidated Tape for Equities and ETFs. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to collaborate across business, technology, and vendor teams.
The DevOps Lead Engineer will be responsible for extending and operating the client’s central IT and production infrastructure, spanning both on-premises appliances and AWS-based cloud systems. This leader will manage a team of DevOps engineers, define best practices, drive automation and ensure the reliability, security and scalability of the platform.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Business, Architecture, Software Engineering, Security and external vendor teams. They will own key Central IT components, including CI/CD pipelines, IAM, observability tooling, configuration management and production deployment frameworks.
This role is essential for ensuring a stable, compliant, and high-performance environment that meets stringent regulatory and operational demands.
Your Team
Team will be gathered from scratch and consist from external vendor who will provide core solution development and client’s team. DevOps role will be in client’s team.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture & Ownership
- Operate and evolve the client`s hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + AWS), ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.
- Own Central IT component,s including:
o CI/CD and deployment automation (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton, ArgoCD)
o Identity & Access Management (Keycloak, AWS IAM, Entra ID)
o Monitoring & observability (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana)
o Backups, DR, and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible)
o Work closely with Solution Architecture on NFRs, performance targets, and operational design.
Automation & Continuous Improvement - Define and implement strategies for automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, and immutable environments.
- Optimize build, test, and release pipelines — ensuring speed and reliability.
- Improve tooling, dashboards, runbooks, and operational processes.
Leadership & Team Management - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps Engineers, defining goals, priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Establish DevOps culture, standards, and best practices across the customer.
- Oversee resource planning, workload management, and team performance.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical and operational issues.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management - Work with Business, Engineering, QA, and Vendors to ensure infrastructure meets functional and non-functional requirements.
- Contribute to architecture reviews, capacity planning, and technology selection.
- Align platform capabilities with business objectives, security requirements, and regulatory constraints.
Skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5–8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering roles, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or technical lead position
- Proven experience running production systems with high reliability, performance and security requirements
- Successful DevOps strategy implementation in FinTech is a plus
Technical Expertise
- Experience working with AWS as well as bare metal infrastructure
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Background in GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
- Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Action, GitLab CI/CD pipeline or Tekton)
- Understanding IAM principles and experience working with IAM solution such as Keycloak. Expertise in implementing security measures.
- Experience working with log and monitoring tools such as DataDog
- Experience managing Atlassia stack (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket)
